This was so painful to watch. The SA tactic is to just kick the ball up and hope for a mistake, and unfortunately the ABs kept making them. Plenty of work for both sides, I am looking forward to next week. I think it will be a more decisive result, one way or another.

Good to see Jordie perform well under pressure, I hope he can start to get the respect he deserves now.

Kick the ball up in the air and wait for a mistake.. a lot of thought been put into that game plan. Well done to the Boks for muscling up in defense and causing AB’s to make errors but they still won the game.

I’m not sure the All Blacks will make those errors again in the next game but well done to the Springboks for putting up a good challenge. I mean their game plan is woefully boring but it almost worked here

Its like this game was meant for the Springboks to win but they gave it away, anyways well done to the All Blacks in what was a somewhat lackluster performance from both teams.

The expectation that rugby matches are supposed to entertain spectators by having 50 to 60 points on the board is misplaced. Test internationals are usually tighter than run of the mill games and high scores are not the norm unless the defense on both sides is shaky. Yes the kicking game is unattractive but rugby followers over the years will know that SA sides have always had this traditional approach. Even in my teens and 20’s we used to call it 10 man rugby. AB and OZ play an attractive style of rugby as long as I have watched them these past 50 years and it is successful for them. Test rugby should be tight games and nail biters. It’s who wins that counts and that is the game plan.

The all blacks were guilty of too many handling mistakes, played into the springboks game plan but came out on top with the win. Hope for a better performance next week.

I like how the springboks are behind 2 points with seconds to go and proceed to continue to kick the ball away. They deserved to lose lmao

Next time the ball is kicked into the oppositions hands time and again in the last 5 min after hard won turnovers they can fire the coach and the two kickers. Sooooo fricking frustrating to watch. Well done allblacks from SA.

When a team plays sooo bad but manages to scrape a win says a lot about them. AB’s should have been beaten. Glad that wasn’t the case

Springboks deserved to lose this, fancy kicking the ball away with three minutes to go when you’re winning by a point.

The Mighty character of the All blacks do it again💪

Pathetic when you don’t have the
confidence to hold the ball for the last 2 minutes and kill the game. It seems that kicking it away and then taking a penalty is a better option.

I knew the Springbok game plan had the potential to frustrate the All Blacks. If that’s how they want to play then all power to them however the 6 or so fake injuries to slow down the game is BS.

Definitely down to the wire, the result tells their standing, 1 & 2. Thump up both teams, congratz abs for the win.

Congrats to NZ from SA. You guys were always the No.1 – and everyone in SA (with real rugby knowledge) knew it. Boks don’t deserve to win if they’re still doing box kicks in the 79th minute.

The highlights say it all,one of the worst games of rugby I’ve seen this year, the ref took centre stage.

I’m Glad All Blacks got to win, but the Springboks got what they wanted and that was to play the game as they wanted. So theres a moral Victory for them in that sense. This was Definitely Not a Great Game as both teams were playing out of FEAR. The untold mistakes from the All Blacks not only made this game an Ugly one but it was such a disgusting and sloppy performance that put a huge dampener on the Grand Occasion. Credit given to the Springboks for putting us under that pressure as they wanted. But most of our mistakes and errors were Unforced errors. But I’m also angry that Ian foster, Steve Hansen ( former coach) and John Plumtree put the fear of God into the All Blacks in the build up. This put the All Blacks in a On A Backfoot mindset. Yes give respect and praise for the Springboks, but not to the point of feeling sorry for them and overcompensating for their 2 losses to the wallabies . It temporarily took the ruthless destroyer attitude out of the All Blacks subconsciously speaking. Thank God Jordie Barrett came to the Party and saved our asses.

Springboks leading on the scoreboard with 5 minutes to play and what do they do. They don’t hold onto possession to win the game; no they go and kick the ball back into the hands of the All Blacks and then they give away a penalty to lose by two points. The forwards doing all the hard work and the backline kicks possession away. I give up!!

Nail-biter, as I expected. It was always going to be a tight, close game and people like Laurie Mains should have known better than to say the Boks wouldn’t be in it. He knows the Boks will never lie down against NZ and must be aware of all the times written-off SA teams have either beaten the ABs or come close. I never underestimate their will to win, especially against NZ. Lots of mistakes in it but both sides had their moments. Here’s to the next 100 years of ABs-Boks rivalry. I just love it.
