Great showing by japan! I was worried that the lack of competition due to covid protocols would really hurt the Brave Blossoms but instead they did amazing with the 3rd best team in the world. Looking forward to next years World Cup!
The offload from petaia that eventually lead to the try at the 1 hour mark, good offload but after he offloads it, the player who gets the ball has the defender in front of him tackled taking him out of the play, not going for japan or aussie but its something I hate in the game its rugby not US gridiron, you see that a lot at rucks too where no one on the defending team is at the ruck but players go and tackle the defenders to try and screen their team, just frustrating to watch and I hate it when I got a ball carrier lined up and his team mate tackles me, which you cannot do even in gridiron as you can only block certain ways and if people try to block you you can shoulder or push them out of the way and not get called up for it. One thing I have liked about the nrl is they cracke down on obstruction you want to run dummy runners in front of the ball carriers fine but at your own risk if you physically impede defenders.
So weird to hear a crowd where yelling is discouraged (and they comply). At first I thought there was a bad mike but after I got used to it, kinda like it. Not like when I needed earplugs during the world cup in Oita.
Kiwi coaching makes all the difference. The attacking play at speed with continuity speaks volumes for Dave Rennie, Jamie Joseph and Tony Brown.

I really hope Japan get an invite to the 6 Nations or the Championship
Here is hoping that the Top League rebrand and going fully professional will help Japan continue to develop.
Thank you for this!
The Japanese team has more foreigners than ever before….I do hope more local players pick up the game…

oof they messed up the australian anthem
Awesome Japan, not good Australia even tho you won
Super thank brooo
Fair play they got the try but going to the corner instead of taking the 3 at the end was a crazy decision that could easily have cost them the game.

ゴールキック時の手拍子は要らんと思う。
キッカーにとって邪魔、成功率を下げるだけと思うけどなー
Were there more than five Japanese on their National side?
2023 is too much fun.
The Wallabies have gone to sleep! It’s almost like a game of touch.

Although foreign players participated, the Japanese team was amazing.
